What is the rule?

Migration Management sets residence permits to end 60 days before the passport expires. Foreigners who renew their passport should update their residence record too.

What this tool doesn't tell you

The length of an entry ban and its restriction code are decided at the border or by Migration Management based on your file. That is why we don't give an exact period.

General information

• Paying the fine and leaving voluntarily works in your favour
• The longer the overstay, the higher the risk
• Asking before you leave is easier than fixing it later

What long-term residence gives you

• Indefinite residence
• Right to apply for an indefinite work permit
• Many rights granted to Turkish citizens

What doesn't count

Half of student residence counts. Humanitarian residence and temporary protection periods do not.

Our fee is separate

These amounts are paid to the state and the insurer. We give you our fee separately, in writing, at the consultation.

Legal basis

YUKK Article 46 lists the cases in which humanitarian residence may be granted. It is issued for up to one year at a time.
